California Privacy Rights

This page is for California residents and explains your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). It works alongside our general Privacy Policy, which applies to everyone.

1. Categories of personal information we collect

Account credentialsPassword (stored hashed)Directly from youNo

We do not collect, and this form does not include fields for: Social Security or other government ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, or information about race, religion, sexual orientation, or immigration status.

2. Do we sell or share your information?

We do not sell personal information, as "sell" is defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as "share" is defined under the CPRA — we don't use your data to target ads to you on other sites or apps, because we don't run advertising technology on this site at all (see Cookies & Other Technology).

We do disclose your name and mailing address to the specific brand for a sample you claim, solely so that brand can ship it to you. This is a disclosure for the purpose you requested (getting the sample), not a sale or a share under the statute.

3. Your rights

4. How to exercise these rights

Access and deletion are self-service, built into the site: log in and open the "My data" link in the site header. From there you can download a full copy of your data as a JSON file (right to know/access) or permanently delete your account (right to delete) — both take effect immediately, no waiting on an email reply.

For a correction, an access/deletion request without logging in, or any question about this page, email [privacy@freegiftgrabber.com] with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We'll respond within 45 days, as required by law (extendable by another 45 days for complex requests, with notice to you).

5. Verifying your request

When you're logged in, using the in-account tools verifies you automatically — it's your account. For requests made by email, we'll verify your identity by confirming details that match your account (such as your registered email and address) before acting on the request.

6. Authorized agents

You can designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may still require you to directly verify your own identity with us, or require the agent to provide proof you've authorized them to act for you.

7. Non-discrimination

We won't deny you samples, charge you a different amount (the site is free either way), or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

8. California's "Shine the Light" law

Separately from the CCPA, California's Shine the Light law lets residents ask what personal information a business has shared with third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing. We don't do this — we don't share your information with brands for their marketing purposes, only to fulfill the specific sample you claimed.
